Not sure whether I love them or hate them, but
Jellyfish floated to the top today, much as they do in the paperweight pictured to the left.
I have come across many a jellyfish, but never have had intimate contact, although I understand that meat tenderizer is the way to handle the result if contact is made...
Here in New England, they float, subtly, white and ghostly in Hyannis harbor sometimes. While visiting Corsica, I saw more of them, in pastel shades...didn't notice them in Tobago or Southwestern Turkey on the coast...but have seen plenty of them in aquarium visits. They are quite lovely and terrifying.

Once, an old flame, J., went to China for a soul-searching-sojourn for a number of months, and came back a jellyfish convert, loved the texture, which is, apparently, quite ruggedly rubberish. I never had the desire to partake in a jellyfish celebration...perhaps you could try one of these recipes: http://fooddownunder.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=jellyfish
More recently, I have found myself drawn to the glassblown jellyfish in a local museum of contemporary zoology, an amazing likeness...
