Green algae plagues me in our family's summer place in northern Maine. We have a camp on a lovely, still somewhat remote, lake. It is a muddy rocky lake, with lots of ancient boulders in the water that have turtles, eels and white perch for company, and, in the shallow areas where you can see the dappled reflections of the sun on hot sunny days, we have algae blooms. These blooms meditate suspended mid-air in the water, fluffy and full and glorious like some aquatic afro signifying botanical pride, until you come up for air from a long dive, and find a series of flattened algae blooms neon-green and affixed to your skin...they crave return to the water ASAP, where their green afro-pride lives on...enjoy the macro and the micro images of green algae plants represented here...and remember that summer is on the way.
